Just checked it against the stock cam gear, sure enough it was timed to the wrong mark.

Ill report back in a bit assuming i can finish this on my lunch break.

You guys are the best! I hope there is a spot to donate to the forum, this place has saved me so much time and money already and i have only had the car for a weekend.

That was it.

IT runs MUCH better now. Still not 100percent where i would like it but WAY better. I have it timed at 10 degrees advance and it idles smooth, it will pull from a stop sign in second gear with no issue.

I think i should do a compression check to make sure it didn't bend some valves running that far off. Then ill try and set it at 11 degrees and put a fresh tune up in it.

Thanks so much for the assistance!!!!!

Question? Do you know the cause of the headgasket failure?

Just contribute and join as a member! You won't regret it! It has already helped you immensely. It will continue to help you in the future as these cars tend to get finicky on occasion.

Glad to hear you got her running better. Congrats!

A compression check never hurts but If you had bent valves, it probably would run like crap or not run at all, depending.

My philosophy is that the first time we solve a problem for someone we have save them at least the cost of membership in time and/or money or both, sometimes far more. If you would like to help insure that we will be here the next time there is a need, then become a welcome member.

I just joined. $20 was more than worth it.

Will it change my status to member?
