Can anyone lend me a tool at Carlisle?

The TC now has a front end, but I didn't get to putting in the new ignition switch. It seems we're missing a steering wheel puller tool, and if anyone has one, could they bring it to Carlisle for me to borrow?

Much appreciation and thanks await you!

The Haynes manual tells me I have to pull the wheel....I would like to avoid doing so if possible.

Jeff G is correct. You do not need to pull the wheel to change the ign switch.Just remove the upper and lower plastic colum covers. Remember that the ignition switch and the ignition lock are two different things.
If you need a steering wheel puller for some other reason, let me know, I have one.

Also if you don't have the correct type if driver bit to get the two fastners that hold the switch in place. use a dremel to put a slot, like a screw, in each fastner and then use a regular screw driver to remove and reinstall them. A dremel tool with a cutoff wheel works great for milling the slot.

We're trailering the car out, so I'll actually be changing the switch at Carlisle. If I run into problems, I'll have the best support team available for help. ;-)

Kris,

They're all right, no steering wheel removal required! There is a special tool for the screws in the switch, but I have that and will bring the kit along!
