on an 87 all you need is the torx bit with the hole in the center, T27 I believe....no big deal. should we have an area in the TC section for "this is how we are constantly working on our cars, and not always polishing...."
Currently birdless, but will get another someday!

I just replaced mine today. The thing was separated in a couple of places. With the right tools, it is a very easy job. T27 is the right torx size. My father-in-law is an appliance repairman and had the tools. He said that they started putting those "tamper proof" screws on microwaves to keep people from trying to fix them or take them apart.
