My install was complete and was a roller until I started to keep going with the mods.

The pics are with the full suspension under the car with 245/40 R 17's on all four corners. The rims are 9" wide.

jeffmerkur, I understand all of your frame mods were already installed by the previous owner.
Can you tell if the K-Member was welded or modified in any way ?
Absolutely awesome TC ! I'd love to see more pics of the rear section.

No, the car was completely stock when I bought it. It was a roller but didn't have an engine and was an automatic. My friend and I did all the mods. Here are some pics of the back.

Thanks for the compliments. I just need to get the thing done!
I have more pics and details in my build thread.

The Mustang 2.3 motor mounts are what you need with the K-Member swap. I posed this question to Chuck Warren last Fall and that was his answer.

That's what I was thinking you would have to do.

A little of topic for this thread but does anyone know the weight of all four corners of a tc stock?
1987 Turbo Coupe
1988 Thunderbird parts car/ possibly street/strip car
1990 F-250HD 460ci
2001 Pontiac Montana (wife's ride)

A quick guess puts me at subtracting the engine weight from the entire car then divide that number by 4.

I just know that the factory K-Member is really heavy. I had to put one in my Mustang by myself one time. That will teach you quick. I'm not sure of the exact weight savings from a Tubular K-Member but its a lot.

Off the top of my head, I think if you do the whole set-up on the front, coilovers and all, it about 50 pounds off the front of the car. The steeda swaybar like I have will get you another 8 pounds. I wish I had been anal enough to weigh everything. Sorry guys

There are different companies that offer different weight savings. Some are Mild steel and some are Chrome Moly.

Also, there seem to be variations over the years. I remember several companies advertising way more weight savings. Another thing I've notice change are the welded on spring cradles. That option is few and far between. They seem to be all bolt on now.

Next, some offer the same unit for multiple year applications (79-04) and some are model specific. I just know that I've been informed that later model k-members have different A-Arm mount angles. Jesus, what gives here ?
I can't even log on to Griggs Racings website for some reason. Kenny Brown seems to have given up on the old fox bodies. There are so many changes since their introduction.

Oh, I did a Google search on the factory K-member weight (Mustang) and found people claiming 50lbs. I think that number must be wrong on earlier years. I had a 83 and it sure didn't feel like 50lbs laying on the hard cement with the car only 3 ft off the ground. Then again, I was only 20 yrs old. :-)

I guess I should of said the 50 pounds was for the MM stuff. Its a beefy set-up made to stand up to high G-loads. I know the K-members made for drag racing are lighter. I guess you have to decide what you want to do with your car. Take corners or blast down the 1/4 mile.
