Mech or Hydraulic?

Does anyone know the date Ford switched from mechanical to hydraulic clutches? I have a car made 11/85 and want to know what it originally was. Thanks,

I'm pretty sure that both of mine are mechanical, with build dates in the middle and at the end of 85.
