Driveshaft shake?

Hey everyone.. Well the TC has been shaking a little more then normal. When i take off it shakes just a little bit. But when going 70+ mph or WOT in high rpms it shakes pretty bad. Its not like terrible but way more then normal. I just jacked up the car and the weights are still on the driveshaft (there is only two on each side right?) Also shook it around trying to see if the U joints were bad but they dont seem to be. I just replaced a little less then a year ago anyways. So I'm kind of stumped. I'm thinking maybe the flywheel could be loose for some odd reason. I'm going to go check to see if our cars have an inspection plate. Any ideas would be great. Thanks.

Also I checked that the wheel were tight and had correct psi in them. I think the wheels are balanced because if i throw it in neutral going 70 it will not shake.

Then it's not likely to be the driveshaft either.

Before I tore into the flywheel and clutch I would check all the pulleys on the engine, especially the crankshaft and see if any were loose. Then maybe the flywheel or clutch. Just a thought.

See if the trans mount is loose or the bushings(rubber) are shot. Also see if the front of the drive shaft has any play in the tail housing

What about the bolts that hold the driveshaft in back? They can come loose.

If you go to neutral and there is no shake... I wouldn't think it was the drive shaft... as the drive shaft is STILL spinning as long as you are moving.

Check your motor and transmission mounts... Also check the tailshaft bushing in the transmission. I had this problem twice, my Mustang was motor mounts and my last TC had a bad tailshaft bushing.

If the tailshaft bushing is out, you need to check the driveshaft yoke for damage as well. If you end up replacing the driveshaft yoke, get it re-balanced at the same time.

Sounds to me like a worn tailshaft bushing. Easy to replace if you have the correct $120 tool.

Or you can you can use a old yoke with two bushings stacked and the outer one cut down to about 3/4 width... Then drive the new one in and let the original "Hang" inside the transmission(this will flare and ruin the first[inner]one on the yoke)... Mine has been this way 5-6 years now... Don't drive it in far enough for the original to drop out of the tail housing, as it will eat up speedo gears... Wanna see my T shirt???

Okay now i have to change the story up on you guys. I just took the car for another test run to verify and IT DOES shake when in neutral going 70+ mph. The shake is coming from what seems the FRONT of the driveshaft. I am hoping that maybe the U joint is bad again, because there was just a little tiny play when i was shaking my driveshaft yesterday. More advice would be nice. Thanks alot guys. I might be able to get this baby going before my first semester of college :]
