From what I can see in the photos; I think that problem is very fixable. Unless there were other issues that made me un-interested in the car, I'd probably fix that.

I used the loaner ball joint removal/press tool from autozone. I was able to do both sides in just a Saturday morning. No removal of the lower arms necessary.
