I've never been to any show like this anywhere, ever really. I would love to make the trip one of these days. It would only be 965 miles round trip for me, and from what I hear, there are several things I can take my daughter to in the area which should hopefully get her amped for the trip. Maybe in 2023!

Rob:
The Butler, PA show I attended several times in the late 70s-early 80s was about the size of a football field—just a large field full of cars, trucks, motorcycles, etc. Nearly all that space was taken up by racing/performance/“special interest” cars. At the time I was more interested in antique automobiles, and there were about  20 or so of those in attendance.

If you love cars AT ALL it’s an amazing experience—to see them, to chat with their owners and other visitors like yourself. (I still vividly recall going to a show in the small town of Davidsville, PA on a Saturday in 1977 and seeing my dream car—my favorite car of all time—a black 1937 Cord 812 Beverly Sedan, supercharged, with huge chrome exhaust pipes emerging from below the coffin-nosed hood. I was in awe.)

Carlisle is many many times larger than that. (The website says 82 acres.)
Another proud dues-paying member.

1987 Turbo Coupe w/T5OD, 8.8 axle, grey smoke; most options. Got it in 1991 with 41K miles: 3 turbos, 2 heater cores, 3 T5OD full rebuilds, 6 clutches, 1 head gasket, 2 Teves II ABS units, etc. later....

I searched up that car to see what it is, very cool looking car! I have a picture somewhere, in it I'm posing in such a way that one might think I own and am just getting out of one of these vehicles. This was a very fancy one parked out front of a hotel when I was in Florida in my early twenties.
I think I would really enjoy the show. I've always liked cars, I guess I just never really was afforded the opportunities to become a car guy growing up. I have no friends or family that are into cars or at least not when I was growing up, I entered the workforce young, and really even now that I'm almost 40, I would say I still only really know a few people who are into cars.
I think it'd be really neat to get down there to see a real car show rather than just a show and shine which is pretty much about what I've been to even the big ones that I've been to.
Plus it be neat to meet some of you guys, find out who's on the other end of the keyboard Smile

Within a couple hours driving distance, there's Hershey Park if your daughter is old enough to ride roller coasters.  Even if she isn't there's a lot to do there.  If younger age, i would suggest Dutch Wonderland in Lancaster.  There's quite of bit of things to do in those areas.  I really enjoyed the train museum near Lancaster too (Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania).

Heather and I will be there. Leaving the kids at home. Got a new job recently. So one of the perks is having time to do car related stuff without having to worry about the expense! See you all that are going Thursday. We will be leaving Saturday afternoon.

That all sounds great, someday I hope. She is 13. She'd love that trip for sure. Not enough good museums around, that train one would be neat.
I guess we are quite close, but you know what they say, close...
With the border I assume closed for travel we won't be going anywhere for a while.
