Just a note for anyone who wants the auto on at dusk, off at dawn lights, but doesnt care about the auto dim feature: You can buy a stand alone autolamp controller for about $40 from JC Whitney. It is made by a name brand company (Audiovox, if I remember correctly), so it is not the usual nameless stuff you usually get from JCW. I have had one of these on my 86 Tbird 5.0 for several years, and it works quite well. As a bonus, it automatically turns on the lights when you turn on the wipers in the rain.

Cool! I didn't know such a thing existed. I was able to connect the Ford autolamp system quite easily (it was basically a plug-and-play operation), but I'd like to add it to my 93 Cougar and I'm not sure if it's as easy on those cars. Thanks for the heads-up.
