Guys, I need help. I'm in the process of making my 86' TC a new and wonderful thing again. I've had some serious electrical problems(the cicuit containing the interior lights ect.) everything was going alright until this morning - the boost gauge doesn't move more than a few millimeters and i can't hear the turbo. The gauge screwed up once before, i took the gauge cluster off and fiddled around with it a bit and it worked. I tried that today and no such luck. Can anyone tell me what to look for in order to troubleshoot? How can i tell if my turbo is cooked or not?

If you don't think the turbo is working, see if the waste gate actuator rod came off the waste gate and the gate is open.

wait - i think i've found it. its dark out but i think its underneath the turbo itself? towards the back of the car? it feels like a flat piece of metal...and it feels like theres two peices...one attached to the waste gate- and the other is the remainder of the rod. crap.
