You can always try to straighten it. If it relocates the nut by 1/2", that sounds like a serious bend. Have at it. If it doesn't work (read, messes up the threads) there is always plan A Big Grin

Thanks Pete. I went ahead and bent it back into vertical (it was 1/2 degree +/-, not 1/2"). I just put an old nut on and used a punch and 5 lbs. hammer with the whole assembly in the vise. Kept on tapping until it was straight. The nut bottomed out on the flange and everything worked just fine. Put everything back together, including the noditied bracket, and the car runs and sounds great. I'll post a report on how it went.
