Superfan update

Well I installed the supercoupe fan and I must say it works!
First impression; it is quieter and man does it move air.
I had air-cond blasting and drove through town with temp gauge reading about 180.
I wired it to the main fan wires and dubbed my relay I had for the secondary fan on it as well.
I can run it constantly if I want but seems I will not need to do this.(Doing so brings gauge down to about 160 in warm weather.)
I recommend this fan to anyone having cooling probs with stock bathroom fans.
I got this fan and shroud for $40. from a 90's coupe I believe.

Gary 88 5 spd and runnin cool.

Cool idea.... (excuse the pun) LOL

Hey, if you have the time, do a write-up on the procedure, with parts listing and whatnot and send it to me. I'll see what I can do to put it in the Tech Article Section on the website.

Thanks

Allrighty then.Give me a while to do a rough copy and then fine tune it.I also want to have time to make sure this works out over time.No gliches so far though, and it's been a few days.

Good idea. Thanks much, this will be a welcome addition to the help files for "cooling issues".

Flex fan you cannot control.
It will be cold all the time.
Too cold = running rich = poor fuel economy

I never thought that having your engine run too "cold" was a bad thing, but now that you've mentioned it, i've got a question......the temp guage on my TC barely gets into the normal range (even in 90º weather after some hard driving). The fans do come on intermittently and the guage itself seems to work just fine, so what could be causing this problem? I'll check tomorrow what kind of thermostat it currently has (should be 180º, right?) and try swapping in a new one.

Thermostat could be bad. My TC likes to "eat" thermostats. I think I'm on the 4th one in as many years. For some reason they all tend to end up split into two pieces on my car.

As everyone says use a motorcraft parts, the ford thermostat has a bleeder ball in it to bleed a small amount of coolant, just a thought that i would pass that along
