I have a 87coupe with 148,000 miles on it.. I just changed the Sparkplugs,Distributor,Rotor and the Fuel Filter.. However, the car still acts like it has very little power... I could be sitting at a light and it acts like its "burping"... Also, I can't take off very fast. I have it floored and go nowhere.

Timing off?

thanks.

check your timing,should be at 10* BTC,also could be a vacuum leak,clogged fuel filter,clogged cat,bad FPR.

Check your cam timing also -- see the tech section for info. Did you use Motorcraft plugs, wires, etc? any other brand seems to be a crap shoot as to weather they work properly or not.

What kind of boost are you getting, and at what RPM? You cant outrun a loaded dump truck with these cars until they get into boost (then hang on... hehe)
