87 TC 5spd.(auto rear end) using 88 5spd. ecu, overboost solenoid bypassed, premium fuel. Old turbo went bad,(squealed) replaced with used turbo. Factory boost guage reads about 10psi. It seems like the motor isn't opening up like it used to, I remember it being faster. Getting from 30 to 50mph is like driving a 3.8L. Also cold engine doesn't like to fast idle. Codes are the same for the past 3 yrs,

See this site on the codes; http://www.tbirdheritage.com/turbocoupe/...-Chart.php

Did you change the cam drive belt or has it jumped time?

It has maybe 1k miles on all new gaskets, timing belt, valve job, all new exhaust. There is a small leak between the exhaust elbow and the exhaust flare. Idles 1000rpm. It seems to run out of steam around 3 or 4k rpm

I doubt that the exhaust leak is part of the power problem, too far downstream.

Are you sure the cam timing is spot on? Have you ever erased those codes and see if they come back?

I haven't checked the cam timing again. I did erase the codes this spring before I replaced the turbo. Sometimes the CEL comes on at cold start, or when idles for long periods of time.

Hate it when that happens. I was doing some work under the valve cover one nut, then decided to check the timing. After setting the timing I took her out for a drive... ran TERRIBLE! No power. I was like, "Man, what did I screw up in that head?" When I pulled in the garage I saw the spout connector sitting on the work bench... :S Whoops.
