exhaust

I currently have a 2 and 1/2 exhaust on my car. I am buying a 3" down pipe with no cat. Also a super 60 is going on the car. Will this size be ok or do I absolutely need 3" or split 2 and 1/2. I feel that the 2&1/2 would be fine. I expect that the car should go mid 14s and I am bell porting the exhaust side (.48 a/r) for better flow. I have read that some cars go slower if the exhaust is too big for what they are flowing!!! So anyone feel free to give me your 2 cents!!!

You *cannot* (i emphasize that because i don't want you to beleive anybody who tells you otherwise) have too big of an exhaust on a turbo car. Bigger is better, but 2.5" shouldn't hold you back enough to justify replacing it with a 3" exhaust.
