I know that the tfi module is prone to failure in part due to the heat it endures in the stock location.
I was looking at my wifes 88 LX Tbird and I noticed that the dist still has a place to put the tfi but it is not there. Instead it is mounted to the core suppert in a heat sink.
Would it be possible to extend the wiring and use the V6 tfi heat sink to mount the 2.3t tfi module? For has had to think it was worth it on the V6 since they moved it.

Yes it can and it has been done. You need the harness and probably the heat sink. This is one I want to do in the near future.

Letting the cat out of the bag is a whole lot easier than putting it back in.

I was thinking that it might be worthwhile to do. I have not had any problem but it might be something worthwhile to plan ahead for.

Yes, and someone even makes a remote-mount kit. GT350R used to be selling a couple, don't know if he still is, though.
