Picked up a pair of 87/88 TC taillights.
The black paint is flaking off the inside of the clear lense. Does anybody know what type/color of paint to use?

I used that Fusion Paint from Krylon in black. I scuffed up the inside with a gray scotch brite pade so the paint would stick.

I used some kind of brush on paint about 4 years ago. I did clean the plastic but I didn't scuff it any and my paint is starting to come off. If I ever take tham apart again, I'm going to try what Tony suggested.

I used duplicolor spray can gloss black a few years back, and it is still good as new. I didnt scuff the surface, just cleaned it with degreaser.

Thanks for the info.
I wasn't sure if it was a flat black or a semi-gloss black.
I'll see what I can find here.
What kind of degreaser did you use Jeff?

I forget the name of it. Got a gallon of it from the auto paint supply store. Same stuff that is used to wipe down the car before painting it.

I'll echo Tony! I used the Krylon paint on my left taillight last year, but scuffed it with steel wool, then used the degreaser.
