well, i been restoring the turbo coupe for about 9 months now, and i am finally getting there. everything is done now, except for the engine. we gutted it and sent it to the machine shop last week, and i got the bad news back today. the damn head is cracked, so my progress is at a standstill until i can rumage up an 85 2.3 turbo head. as much effort as i have done put into this car, this kinda shit just pisses me off. I am sick of the 83 Sentra, and ready for the TC. man i hate my luck.

Hang in there, man. You're making an investment of your time, not just your money. Keep plugging away and before you know it, Spring will be here and you'll be out there with the windows down cruising along at 18+ psi. [Image: biggrin.gif]

same thing happened to me when my Cougar wouldnt pass emmisions due to smoke from the exaust 2 years ago. So I parked the XR7 in the driveway and took the head off Brought it to the machine shop and it had 3 cracked exaust seats. I found a good 2.3 head at the first junk yard I tried and it was gauranteed to be crack free and it was. I paid 100 for it but it was well worth it for the money I saved on rebuilding it. Also it was an 83' casting and it needed a hole drilled for the extra lower intake manifold bolt for my 85' inline intake. Get new cam bearings while your at it. It worked fine as the car ran 15.4's with only exaust and air meter mods. It felt MUCH faster than that on the street too! It was a blast.
