Do you feel the turbo kicking in? If the car isn't a dog, then the turbo is definitely working, at least partially.

If you have the stock boost gauge, its your likely culprit. They are notoriously unreliable with age.

The aftermarket boost/vacuum gauge I bought was one of the best investments I've made in a while. Not only does it give you a window into your motors health, it lets you know when you are getting the best gas mileage (right at around 10 inHg)...

Check all your vacum lines, I had a vac line on the vacum tree blow off under boost and it made my boost gauge do funny tnings, wouldn't read more than 2-3 psi of boost or anthing below 8 inches of mercury on the vacum side, if the turbo wasn't boosting you would know it, there would be a huge decrease in performance, most likely accompanied by some sort of smoke or howling from the turbo, probably just a loose vacum line somewhere

I thought the "G" on the vac. tree stood for "Gauge." That is the port my factory gauge was hooked to. But, as Pete said it doesn't really matter.

The gauge should have a line hooked to the back of it, in the pod. The line runs through the fire wall to that vacuum tree
