Im getting frustrated. I have a bov on my car, the thing struggles to hold idle. It stalls sometimes. The BOV is on the pipe coming right after the turbo, is this not where it should be?

If i rev it a bit, the idle goes up and down. If i get it to 4000 and let off it pretty much stalls.

I boosted to like 10 psi and held it there, the car jerks back and forth if i let off a little (only sometimes though), possibly surging? Why does it with a bov?. Idk, im at a loss. By the way, the elbo coming off the turbo is only an inch and 3/4 with 20+ pounds.

Does the bov need to be "t"ed into the boost line or vac??

The reason the car stalls is because you're running a BOV with a stock computer. You can't vent metered air (air after the vam) into the atmosphere with the stock computer. It has no idea that it has left the intake tract. Try routing the air from the BOV back into the tube before the turbo. That'll solve your problem.

What kind of BOV? is it really a BPV that is open most of the time? I suspect the valve is open / partly open all the time, causing the problems due to unmetered air as Scott explained.

Its a 1g dsm bov. i just read an old post of someone doing this the exact same way, does the bov need to be hooked up to vacuum?

i assum this valve is leaking, it leaks at 17, i need to mod it to hold more boost.

this is setup the same way mine is, right after the turbo, open to the atmoshpere. he says, "It's functional, it's loud, and I don't get any stumbles or backfires."-natmac.

For a 1g DSM valve to work well at all, you're going to have to mod it for higher boost and install a 1-way check valve. Personally, I had one on my car at one time and never really liked it much.

Alright, this is what i did. I hooked vac to the bov and it idles normal and doesnt stall, BUT, the car doesnt want to boost more than 10, it sputters and pops, and the bov doesnt do anything.
