will this fit? I found a part# inside the head and it doesn't match....
# on the head is RF-E52E, and that # doesn't match the number on the one on the Ebay auction.
Any help would be appreciated.

I havnt seen a 2.3 head like that. I havnt seen one with all round ports. The ones I have seen are either D or oval ports! thats pretty interesting.

That looks like the old "oval port" head. What is important is that is a turbo combustion chamber. Some people feel this one can be made to flow better than the newer "D" port head. You may have to drill one hole to mount the later lower intake but that's easy and it's been done before.
Just to make sure have it shipped to me for inspections and at least a two year test. [Image: biggrin.gif]

Jonesey, don't listen to Pete. He's getting old and confused. His car is always being worked on. Send it to me, I'll give it a proper thrashing to test it. E-mail me for my addy...

Jonesy, Sctur601 has a good point on the round intake ports?? The combustion chambers look like the right shape. If I understand the p/n numbering system?? it's an 87 P/N

That head is NOT for a 2.3 Turbo, a 2.3 yes but not a turbo. The combustion chamber "LOOKS" the same but the valves are shrouded more due to the kidney shape. Turbo heads are a true D shape. Also the ports are A LOT smaller as I warned you about in the other thread. It is going to take a good bit of machining to get that head to turbo specs but it can be done. Good luck.

Go here, click on "Cylinder Head on the left side of the page and then scroll most of the way down. You will see some small pics that show both types of combustion chambers.
