I have a question that I'm sure you guys have an answer to. I have an motor from an 85 TC but the harness I have comes from an 88TC. will it work ? what all would I have to do to make it work ?

I only have my 88TC to look at for tips but thats about it. This 85 engine is going to be rebuilt and tossed in my 91 hatchback .

Which computer? I would hope it's from an '88 to go along with the harness. Couple differences between the years that come to mind;
1. '88 uses an Integrated Relay Controller to provide power control (solid state with relays) for ECU, fuel pump, primary and secondary fans. The '85 has separate relays and cooling fan controller.
2. '88 has a manifold air temp sensor in the lower intake that's not on the '85.
3. '85 has a cooling fan switch in the lower intake that's not in the '88.
4. '88 has a premium/regular fuel switch wired to the ecu.

You really should search around for the wiring diagrams and ECU pinouts for the two years. That'll go a long way towards answering the wiring changes.
