I've read the tech article on fixing your windows that come out of the clips, and I've been to the parts stores in town looking for this windshield urethane adhesive, but everyone looks at me like I'm crazy. Today at NAPA, the guy was telling me what I was looking for was this $40 bottle of caulk looking stuff that said urethane adhesive. Is this the right stuff? Anybody got a pic of the bottle this stuff comes in or a simple description of what I need? I've printed out the tech article and taken it with me, but with no luck still. Most of the parts stores tell me to use silicone, but I tell them specifically what I'm looking for and they just have no idea. Any help?

What I get from Napa is a pack of twin tubes about $15-20. You have to use a special applicator gun that pushes stuff out of both tubes and it gets mixed in the nozzel. Works like a calking gun. My store just loans me the gun. I don't remeber what they call this stuff but I could probable find out tomorrow

The stuff you really want is from 3M.. the Window Weld Super Fast Urethane.. It's about $15 from O'reily's Auto Parts.. its black. it's nasty to work with.. but it bonds like nothing else.. see pic for the tube .. No special gun needed if you have a regular calk gun..

Also.. make sure you use new plastic trim hangers.. You will need 14 for the door skin and 2 for the insulation piece if it's still there.. Ford sells them for $7+ change for a bag of 10.. the door insulation uses 2 longer trim connectors . but the normal trim pieces will work just fine.. (I wasn't able to find the 2 "special" trim hangers for the insulation.. they are longer for some reason...)

I used 3M structural adhesive. Its two part, but you can mix it like epoxy and put it on with a putty knife. 12 bux at the parts store and its held for 6+ years.

How strong is the 3M Windo Weld? I need something to fix the rear window molding that's buckled on my Mark VIII. And you can't just replace the molding, it's only available with a new rear window.

Not that I advise this.... but....

PL adhesive. $3.5 at hardware stores everywhere. I cant remember what the label is exactly (its the one that does say adheres to glass)

3 years later, still working for me, for what its worth...
