OK thanks! I thought it would be a local shop and I am sure the cost of repairs are less expensive compared to the North East. But its a dam good price and a nice benchmark to work from.

I am a certified glass technician and i can say, yes replacing the glass is pretty easy......how ever it need to be done properly. The windshield is part of the structural integrity of your car, if you get in a roll over accident and the windshield pops out your roof will collapse. I've seen many instances of this as it is part of the training. There are also many pending lawsuits on glass shops for negligence causing death or serious bodily harm when windshield pop out in an accident.

special primers are need so the glass bonds to the urethane and the urethane bonds to the body. If the primer isn't used you can literally push the glass of the car

I have also seen many....many jobs done at cut rate shops where the proper products were not used and the pinch weld was totally rusted out and rotten. a poor job will lead to rust which WILL leak, once its rusting it costs big dollars to properly fix, if you can find a body shop that will fix rust. I have never heard of a body or glass shop guaranteeing a job if there is rust present.

Sorry for the long winded post. But ive seen the results from poor jobs and its nothing I would want on my own car let alone feel safe driving it if the glass is not properly bonded.

Save yourself a major headache (or death) down the road and get it done by a reputable shop that uses the proper products.
