Have to find a used set. I haven't seen any new ones in years.

It's there but listed under different pieces. I don't know which part of the stripping you need. Start on the catalog with the side vent window and slowly scroll down. It's all there. Some is listed under door, some is listed under hardtop, some is also listed under side vent window.

the piece, which I think the OP is also referring to, is (what I would call) the 'window wiper'

mounted bottom edge of window, outside, black rubber 'wiper' which rides against the glass, .. they get cracks ..

I looked again on the steele website ; nothing there for an 86.. if it's there (and I cant figger it out), please snip the text and reply here, even a part number would be nice to help in the internet looking

Hey 86, I was also interested in finding this part. I just talked to my painter friend a few days ago about painting my car and replacing these, but haven't found them until now with www.steelerubber.com. Thanks, Hoodbird. Anyway, you search under 1986 Ford, Lincoln, Mercury at the top, then click Side Vent Window on the side, then Preassembled Beltline Weatherstrip. I wouldn't have guessed it but my friend said it was called Beltline Moulding which sounds crazy.

There is also a writeup somewhere, maybe on a Merkur website or coolcats or something, couldn't find it right now though.
