Window Glue Fail (100% Silicone)

Some things that have worked for me is (1.) cleaning those guides well. I found a lot of scratchy dirt and sand in them. Took awhile to do. Then I lubed them. I found that regular old pipe cleaners are a big help for cleaning and re-lubing. Lighter fluid is a great softener/cleaner for old grease . (2.) Another trick is to use some medium to coarse sand or garnet paper to scratch up the glass (both sides) where the clips will be located when glued, for better glue bonding. I have always used a  2-part glue from an auto parts store.
(3.)I also let the glue dry with the window raised most of the way. The angles on the clips are straighter with the window raised than when it's down, leading to a somewhat more even distribution of force on both sides of the clips for better adhesion.
