Who has....?

had problems with their rear breaks? My sound like they are dragging and grinding, but I dont have the key for the locking lug nut.

A VERY common problem is the caliper guide pins siezing in the caliper bracket. You will need to take off the wheel and check it out. At best, the pins are mildly stuck, and can be removed with some effort. At worst, they are totally rusted in, and you will need new brackets and pins, or you will need a machine shop to remove the rusted in pins. Personally, every year or so I pull the rear breaks apart and relube the pins.

find a old socket that is a little smaller than the locking lug nuts drive it on with a hammer then remove lug nut there are a lot of different paterns for the locking lug nuts parts houses have new sets that include the key or you can put a regular lug nut on it

Well, I busted 2 sockets getting the locking lugnusts off.Thanks god I wasnt stranded on the side of the road with those.Pulled the brakes off and found the passenger side was hanging up the lower floating pin froze up and wore the pad down to the metal.Well, a day later and I ended up snapping the pin inside the bracket off.I live across the street from the school so walked over and I used the press, didnt budge, used a torch to heat it then beat it, no luck.Ended up drilling it out. It was all free and I ended up fixing the problem. Thank goodness the apartment people didnt start bitching about me working on the bird.
