As I said before, this car is clearly not my style, but...........

You have to consider that this is probably one of maybe 5 or 10 cars in this type of condition in the world. If you "have" to have a perfect Turbo Coupe, this might be your only choice. People buy cars like this all the time because they have "a reason", be it sentimental, investment, or just plain foolish, it happens.

Look at it another way, that is less miles than a demo car would have had on it when it was new. $15K is what, $7,000 less than the sticker price when it was new? Put that into it, and you can have a brand new Turbo Coupe, as it rolled off the line for less than a new Honda. How many here would like to have owned their current car when it was new, here is your chance.

Again, just stating opinion, I'm sure not running to the bank [Image: wink.gif]

IF I didn't have SOOO many already I'd consider this one. Personally I think it's a bargain at $15K...My first 87 TC was about $19K new and not as many options...ck out the papers and ads on TV for econo boxes getting 30 mpg for around the same money...I'd rather have the TC! [Image: biggrin.gif]

Welcome to the world of car collecting. If $15K is too much for you, try $750,000 for an all aluminum 427 CI equiped Camaro. One hit that amount and didn't reach the reserve on an Ebay auction about 6 weeks ago. One of 5 known to exist.

Quote:It's been sitting for 17 years, so the suspension has probably gone soft, just for starters.

And yours, that has been "on the road" that long hasn't? New springs are probably a $400 fix at most.

Is it worth it. I don't know but if I was looking for a gargage/trailor queen, this one qualifies and I'd have to seriously consider the price as in the range of reasonable. If your not looking for a car like this, then the price is going to seem excessive

Something else to remember is... $21K is about $34.5K in todays money. That makes the $15K(+) he's trying to get for a 99.9%(guess) perfect TC seem like a steal...

But he won't take $15k, his reserve could be 20 or 25.

My aunt bought a '91 Dodge Steath R/T twin turbo, and to this day it has less than 3k miles. She tried getting $13k for it a year or two ago, and nobody even called about it. The thing has sat under a car cover in her garage since day 1.

My point is, people are going to be skeptical to spend that kind of money on something, unless it's pretty rare. There may not be that many near-new mint Turbocoupes these days, but TCs themselves are pretty abundant.

Different strokes, I guess. I'd rather take the route I'm on where I can build the TC I want for half of that.

I didn't mean to offend anyone. If you have the cash to buy it, as a collector or something, that's great. But for a driver, I wouldn't spend that, even on a new car. The only exception is my wife's Tahoe, but I had needs and reasons for that purchase. Even with those needs and reasons, I kick myself in the rear every month when the payment is due (or when I think about it's 13MPG).

Ceezer, I wouldn't buy a car like that for a driver. I'd be scared to drive it even though it may not be as rare as other cars.

My turbo coupe is modified in all kinds of ways, I would love to have a mint condition stock turbo coupe. Another car I would like to have is a mint condition 95 supercoupe 5 speed, I think they only made like 800.

I am only 22. I cant speak about the car when it was new. From what I understand, the Turbo Coupe was a signifigant car. Well for car people anyway. Its features- power, handling, options. Hood scoop! Rear discs! power everything. Turbo....SWEET! a 2.3 makes more hp than a 5.0. This car changed things. Well, for Detroit. The T-Coupe competes with cars of today, from 15+ years ago. I know the looks are interesting. From some angles it can look so nice, others, not so nice. Anyway, its funny how just one time behind the wheel of this car gets you hooked. 15k is worth it. I think this car is important.
