Thanks Silver, but I want to get a Bird. I've been around too damn many fox body 'stangs. I'm not a huge fan of the '84 styling, and I don't want to pay the insurance for one either.

Thanks anyway,

Don

Any year of the TC's are worth owning. I have owned an 83, 84, 86, and 88's. All were/are very nice cars to drive. I haven't experienced the problems others have. I bought the 83 with 40,000 miles on it. Sold it when it had 173,000 miles on it. The only things that were done to it was routine maintenence, a new clutch, struts and new timing belt tensioner. It was running excellent when I sold it. I think the problem is that some of these cars were abused by their previous owners. Just take your time when looking for one. Find one that has been well taken care of and you can't go wrong.

I bought an 86 TC for my son in 1999. We have not done any mods other than 2 1/2" dual without mufflers (sounds pretty sweet). We purchased the car from the original owner who was very picky and it had been very well taken car of. I had to replace the carrier bearings in rearend. But we have had no problems. I do however think the computer on these cars get confused sometimes!!! We went though a period with it when it seemed to have no power through 2nd gear. As far as gas mileage is concerned, this car is great. It doesn't do bad with me driving but it get outstanding mileage with my son driving it. He took a long trip with our church last summer and got 36 mpg and said he drove 75 most the time.

Theres my .02

1990 Bronco II (wife's ride)
