Where can i get some good head work done?

i want to get my 88 turbocoupe head ported while the engine is apart, who does good work? how much should i expect it to be with a 3 angle, port, polish, and some bigger valves? thanks.. can anyone on here do some good port work for a fair price?

I can do OK portwork, and can have everything else you said done at a good local machine shop.

273rwhp and 342ftlb at 24 psi with a slipping clutch!
And it still feels slow!

Be careful who does the machining! Guys that work at machine shops treat our heads like it's a bowtie head - I know a guy that had 2 heads ruined by "good" shops. once too much metal is removed, it's too late!

Steves right. Find a shop that does 2.3 work for the roundy round guys. At least they will be familiar with the head.

Yes you need to have good machine work done! The guy that is at my favorite machine shop races 2.3s he is very good. I have been trading portwork for valvejobs with him for a while. The key to a good valve job on these engine is make sure you have tight valve guides before they but the cutter/grinder to it. Might as well have hardend seats put in also, less of a chance for the head to crack (if your lucky and its not cracked now).
