Iheard that TRW stopped making them and there are not any of those to be found. Look for J&Es or Weisco. Wont' be cheap but they are quality. Have you measured your bores yet to determine the proper oversize?

Sealed power still makes them. part numbers:
L2500f fot std.
L2500f50mm oversized
L2500f75mm oversized. These are forged and Advance sells them for around 60 each. Not cheap but I have used them before with good results. Anyone in your area that sells sealed power should be able to order them.

TRW/Federal Mogul/Speed Pro/Sealed Power - the big conglomerate that makes our turbo pistons is filing for bankruptcy so nothing it being produced

I talked to the people in the area that REALLY know parts... and they got me in touch with the Federal Mogul headquarters... seems the pistons are now considered 'obsolete' and even if they start producing more pistons - the 2.3T pistons WON'T be one of them.

So I had some buddies check the nationwide databank and there are NO .020" or .030" over pistons AT ALL - ANY WHERE - ON ANY SHELVES... there are only *3* .040" over pistons in the country in a California warehouse (which doesn't help me but if you guys are looking for individual spares - get them now) - I didn't check on the .060" over pistons because they were just a little to big for my taste.

This was again confirmed by "Junior" at Chet Herbert Cams in CA.
So, sealed power does not still make them!

Kind of funny I have been getting them with no trouble at all.
I have ordered several sets for some of the mini stock racers in the area.
I checked with our wharehouse and the have plenty. I don't know where they get there parts from but we can still get them.

You can still get them online from Advanceautoparts.com
I have not checked with Autozone or any other companies. but Advance can get them. Last set we got ws only a few days ago.

Why are the mini stock guys running turbo pistons? Are they running turbo motors? If not, that would really lower there compression.

Yes some of them do run turbo pistons with severly milled and ported heads. As a matter of fact a lot of them also run turbo heads to beacause of the combustion chamber shape. The run the milled head and dished pistons beacause they have found that flame travel to be better with that combo.
A lot of this depends on what class they run. There are "modified" and "stock" classes. When I lived in california we ran in the stock class and ran the Turbo pistons with the head milled .075" and we never finished out of the top ten in 21/2 years. With this comb our cr was 10.01to 1
The track also specified a Holley 500 cfm carb.
The modified cars ran a 4 barrel carb and header. Most of the guys I knew ran the turbo pistons also but milled the head .090" and ran realllly big cams!
We ran 75+ mph on a 1/4 mile paved track and the modifieds touched on 100 mph. All most everyone ran Pinto bodies.

Well they used to be $60. I checked on Monday after reading this posting and couldn't decide on which set to buy since I don't have the engine torn down. At that time both the .50 mm (.020) and the .75 mm (.030) were the same price, about $60. Well I decided to order a set of both today, reasoning that I could see the set I don't need since they may soon not be available. The .75s are now in the $87 range. The good news is that the .50s are still $57. I checked some of the postings from last year and a set of 4 for either size was about $130 plus shipping. Just thought I'd give a heads up. Shit, guess I should have bought 2 of the .50s since I have 3 engines [Image: smile.gif].
