What's the most fuel your 87-88 has taken?

I just got back from the gas station where the pump said they put in 20.4 gallons. I have put well over 130,000 miles on turbo coupes and have never seen them take more than about 18.5 gallons. The fuel light was on and I drove for a maybe 35 minutes total with it on not hot rodding it. I know I'm not getting very good mileage right now and will look into that but it seems like 20+ gallons means the pump is off on metering. What do you think?

The larger tanks were listed at 22 gal nominally. Sounds like you filled up just in time is my guess.

I put really close to 21 one time in mine. My "Mission Complete" (low fuel) light was on and I took an exit ramp that turned left and went down hill and about half way through the turn I started coasting. I was able to coast to a level place and it started right back up and made it to the gas station about 2 miles away.

I'll also say that if you have a "nose down" attitude on your TC when you are filling it you will be surprised at how much more gas you can put in it.

Generally, my TC takes 16~17gal. to fill when the gauge shows empty. The most I ever remember putting in was 19.2 gallons once on a road trip where I couldn't find a gas station when I would normally want to fill up.

All 87-88's have a 22.Something tank, all motors same tank. I've owned everycombo you can think of. I've myself have found that when you hit E that there is still 3-5 gallons left, which comes from dropping them to replace stuff.
