Anyone have any idea what the going price is for a complete factory intercooler setup (Ford Motorsports/Spearco) for an '83-'86 TC? I know they're hard to find.

Be aware that not all used/for sale kits contain all the parts.
I can send you some of the documentation, including parts list and install instructions if that will help.

And beware condition. The pipes tend to wear a hole where they pass between the radiator and frame and the intercooler may not hold pressure and leak.

Generally $200 - $300 used but I watched a NIB go for almost $400 on Ebay several years ago.

From 0-$300. I got my last unit for free. The guy upgraded to a stinger and just wanted it out of his garage. I am looking for one too since I just picked up another 86. If you happen to find one at the jy, put all the piping together and tell them its an oil cooler. You will pay less than $60 that way.LOL!!

Whatever you do dont buy the bigger unit, especially if its used!! That unit is held together with glue, and 20+ year old glue is rotted, hard, and leaks. That right! The end tanks are held together with glue. Worst of all it cant be fixed.

Bad Unit

In my opinion the the one with the glued on end tanks is not worth anything at all. they rarely have smog stickers and they are prone to leak.

The older unit is held together with sealant and screws and can be re-sealed. I've done it and tested it up to 25 psi, no leaks.

What screws hold it together? I have never seen any screws, only glue. I brought the intercooler to three different shops and they wont touch it. If you have a way to repair them, please post specifics. Thanks

looks to me by your pic that its glued and riveted together?
maybe some nice epoxy and new rivets could fix it?

Thanks for all the replies. I just listed it in the 'for sale' section. I went towards the high end in price 'cause it's a quality unit and my wife and I are going through some serious financial difficulties right now. Thanks everyone!

The screws are obvious in your pics, they're in the outer edge of the end tanks. Since they're junk I'll gladly take the one you have and pay shipping. Then I'll see if my method fixes it too and tell you all about it.

LOL!! I sold it a long time ago. BUT if I still had it, I would glady trade you for the smaller unit.

Seriously, if I find another one, I will send it to you for free, and you just pay for shipping...Here is the catch... You promise to post pics of the repair for all of us.
