Is this factory?

Says it's on a 86 TC 5 speed.. My 86 has a solid tube going from the turbo to the throttle body.. not this finned part with a rubber hose?

Any input?

I've seen those before, don't know if they were stock on some model or aftermarket, but I do know it acts like a heat sink to (hopefully) cool down the air charge a bit.

thats what was on the early tbirds wasnt it? b/c the svos had a TC style IC. Early meaning non 87/88. the fins are designed like Joe said to disipate heat thru the pipe

Hmm.. My 86 was built in March of 86 and doesn't have one (but I'm sure they were ramping up for the 87's by July or so)

I can't see that really disipating much heat at all~

It's not the same as on my '86, though I have seen the finned compressor tube before. It was probably added afterward, not OE. Shouldn't matter though.

The my 85 came with the finned tube as OE. The rubber coupling in the picture isn't stock.
