I'm thinking the width might fit but that profile is going to make the tire over 30 inches tall. 295/50/15 would match factory tire height.
275/60/15 would be another option, slightly taller than factory at 28 inches and more likely to fit width wise.

i'm running 275's and coming awfully close to rubbing the wheel well and quad shock.. 295's, i would believe, would come in contact with either or both.. if you roll the lip and eliminate the quad shock, it'd be close, but would probably fit.. might rub when making hard turns, if anything.. but a 65 sidewall is a bit tall without a minitub.. i'm willing to bet the tire would rub the top of the wheel well, when the car is launched

i have a 285/40-17 on the back with 9.5" greg welds. no clearance problem at all. i rolled the fender lip but it wouldn't hit even if it wasn't rolled.

A 295/55/15 is drag radials, they can be driven on the street but are going to wear out extremely quick, and I'd say it would be almost impossible to find that size commercially available in a street tire. Not saying it can be done, but when you do find them your probably going to pay alot more.

I know its a drag radial that's what im wanting to run because I don't drive the car a lot on road just when its sunny and plus a 275 is not going to hold the power to the road
