What is the secret handshake?

There must be something that I am missing!
I want to remove the bolt in the distributer hold down to replace it with that Allen wrench set up that was sold online a while back. I can see the bolt looking through the serpentine belt but cannot get a socket on it!
I had been able to get to it on my other TCs but not this one. The hose for the PCV that runs down there is in the way.
Is there a secret handshake I need to know?

Remove dist cap, which will give you a little bit more clearance. Might help to remove the PCV hose that is in the way.

I've used a 17mm crows foot and a 6 inch socket extension in the past.

I know I will like it! Right now the timing on the car is set at 10 btdc with the spout out. I would like to advance it a little to liven up the car a little.

I can get to the bolt quickly, with the car running and everything in place using 2 5" 3/8 extensions and a crows foot. There's an art to slipping the crows foot under the hose there, but after a few times it's easy for me now. The hard part is keeping it all together and not falling in hard to reach (and hot) places.
Duct tape. Is there anything it CAN'T do?

Once you do get it out very quickly run to the nearest Jyard and grab a 13mm bolt from an N/A stang [Image: wink.gif]
To get it off you should be able to slip a shallow socket by the PVC hose and slowly lift the dist as you loosen the bolt. You won't have to take it all the way out. Just till the bolt is loose enough to take out by hand. Thenm get that 13mm bolt in there and your homefree [Image: biggrin.gif]
