What happened ti my turbo, lowered boost levels

Ok so I've been extremely busy lately with work, school, and doing homework so I don't have much time to work under the hood
Anyways I was taking my mom to work the other day about 6 in the morning and I punched it while getting on the onramp for the freeway
My normal boost peaks at around 16-17psi max and when I punched it obviously something happened because since then my turbo only spools up to about 12 psi max but it still consistent as that's the max anytime I really get on it
Has this happened to anybody else? Anybody have a clue on what I should check?

I had a similar problem years ago but with the factory bcs, my solution was to install a mbc. Sorry I'm no help. However I do have to ask; Why are you "punching it" with your mom in the car? I'm pretty sure I'd have 5 puncture wounds in my right thigh and maybe a poop stain in the passenger seat if I ever did that. Lol.

Possible that you have a leak that's opening up at 12 psi. Check the hoses between the turbo and TB. Unlikely, but possibly the MBC somehow got out of adjustment? Is the locking nut tightened down?

my gauge are you using to tell you its 12psi?
the factory gauge isn't accurate and can also be very inaccurate.

the factory boost gauge using a plastic line to feed the boost signal to the cluster. if there is a crack in that line it will show inaccurate reading. if its very small it will work normal to a certain pressure and then open. thus showing a limit pressure reading but actually producing the normal pressure.

check all your vacuum hoses near the turbo and boost controller. and your intercooler hoses to be properly fitted and tight.

ok I thought i would bump this thread back up since the problem still persists
I took the boost valve apart and everything is pristine and the locking nut has been nice and tight since installation
I have an aftermarket boost gauge and I have since changed all the hoses that were connected to the intercooler and the hoses that connect up to boost valve
After the hoses were changed i took it on a test drive and results were the same
I gave the boost valve another two turns and that doesn't seem to do much
There has to be a leak somewhere but can anybody point me in the right direction, motor and turbo are nice and healthy but the lowered boost levels are just bugging me

Try pressurizing the wastegate actuator to ~15-17psi (no more), using an air compressor, and see if the actuator rod moves. Perhaps the gate is stuck partially open? Does it spool up any slower since this started?

Pressurize it? Not vacuum.
And no it spools at the same rate it used to.
