What parts are interchangable with a 5.0 mustang. Obviously the motor and related items. I was more interested in driveline and suspension parts. For me its getting difficult to find aftermarket suspension goodies. I would like to replace the twitchy ride control system with a conventional shock.

Also I heard that the rear axle housing is a different width, is this true?

Why don't you tell us what you are trying to do? Some parts interchange (depending on the year of your car) as replacements and others will bolt in, but will change your suspension in unwanted ways.

If you just want standard shocks then any auto parts retailer should carry them. PRC Shocks/Struts are no longer made.

No...the housings are the same. The axles are different lengths.

I would like to turn this car in to a track car but finding hi-po aftermarket parts for a turbocoupe for me seems like a losing battle. Aside from adding tubs and a roll cage, I would like to keep body mods to a minimum (ie: no tube chasis or pro-stock rear.)
I would like to get this car to dip into the 9's then detune back to the 10's. I feel the car would last longer with stronger parts.

Complete suspention seetups for the t-bird, and it uses mostly mustang parts. Full front and rear kit will run you right around 6K however, for their midrange stuff.

Check out the vendors section for stuff. Areobird MS, Stinger Performance, Esslinger, they have most of the parts you would need. Its not too hard to find parts for these cars if you look a bit. also use the search function for specific parts you need, and reveiws and such by the guys who use them: Us.

Also check www.turboford.net

Maximum Motorsports has adjustable upper and lower control arms for the rear end that are T-Bird specific. They also make the Caster Camber plates for the Front end that are also T-Bird specific. The Mustang parts do not fit these applications!

MM does not sell adjustable uppers. They have always recommended stock replacements or their 3-Link setup which eliminates the uppers completely.

Where did you order them from? Do you have the part numbers? I know they sell the adjustable ride height lowers, but I have never seen adjustable uppers. In fact, the only company that I can think of that sells adjustable uppers for our cars is CHE.

Mike C:

Griggs actualy uses the MM C&C plates as part of the kit. And since the ride height is quite a bit lower than stock, they can use Mustang Koni's. I'm trying to get pictures of all the t-bird stuff on the car. The griggs rep i talked to is trying to find me some info on the 88-tbird that they show on their site....the one with the big rims and the red "Fuel Safe" cell. BAD AZZ CAR. and yes, everything they sell in the kit will work. The only thing that isnt included are the motor mounts. And we always have Chuck W for those!
