What does the code 42 stand for.

How do you get rid of the code 42 and how much would it cost to do so.. it says that it's rich, but how does it get that way????

It means th e02 sensor is always reporting the A/F mixture is rich. There can be a few things that cause it. Fuel pressure may be too high for one. What kind of problem are you having?

i'M NOT HAVING ANY PROBLEMS NOW i FIXED THE IC PROBLEM SO IT IS STAYING IN. I JUST LIKE TO RUN THE CODES EVERY MONTH OR 2. SHOULD I REPLACE THE O2 SENSOR IT LOOKS PRETTY NEW.

Is the code 42 coming up during the continous codes part of the test? If it is, just erase it. See the articles on running the codes.
