What do you do about rotted rear fuel lines?

The rear fuel lines, and fuel pump housing on my red 88tc are shot, what do you guys do to fix them, they are obsolete from ford, also what do you do about the fuel pump housings??

I'd make some new hard lines out of a roll of stainless steel brake line. I actually plan on slowly replacing the rubber lines that don't see any adjustment with metal ones...

but with brake line how to you get the fittings to connect it to the gas tank, plus fuel filter?

hmm, good point.

You might be able to flare the end and connect them with rubber fuel line from the auto store and clamp them, but that might not be a good idea. You're better off waiting for someone else to reply [Image: tongue.gif]

couldn't you flare them and use a brass flare press fitting to secure it? then you could adapt the brass fitting to whatever.

Yeah, or one of those things in the plumbing department of hardware stores for attaching hoses to metal lines [Image: biggrin.gif]

so recap: Metal flared line, fitting to line adapter, to rubber line, to fuel pump? I think that would work.. opinions?
