I'm wondering if there's anything I can do about this, though it seems to be a feature of the car. But I am growing really tired of the fact that every little groove in the road catches my tires and I'm constantly correcting. It'll grab left or right and I barely feel any feedback on the steering - if at all. My entire front end is rebuilt with PST parts and it didn't change a thing. At a stop with the car off, I can still move the wheel back and forth a few inches and the tires only move a few tenths of an inch. It's becoming really annoying with all the studded tire grooves on the freeway around here.
So are there any things I can do? Where can I get a rag joint and what is the offical "parts" name of this piece? Is it possible - or safe - to replace this with a solid piece? It's the only thing left I can think of.

Also check the specs on your Toe-in. A little toe-in goes a long way in keeping it from wandering, but it won't correct your play.

The flaming river piece sounds interesting. Good read, thanks Pete. Mike, I do have some toe in, I forget how much I made them do it but it was at the advice from here. It's more along the lines of those ruts on the freeway are like trying to cross the wake when wakeboarding. Bounding in between the ruts until I get shot down the back side if I'm not careful!

What is your tire pressure? If its the same all around try 2psi less in the front. I use 32 back and 30 front. Excessive play at the steering wheel is most probable due to worn our mis-adjusted steering rack.
