After reading several different threads, I've seen basically two types of installations for the volvo intercooler (there was a sideways mount but there must be problems with this because I could find only one installation). First is the ranger radiator allowing the ic pipes to run on either side with the plumbing going to the stock locations of the turbo and intake. This requires a lot of bends in the pipes. Second is a ranger radiator with turns in the turbo outlet and the intake manifold so the plumbing is a stright run from the turbo outlet to the ic and from the ic to the intake. This looks like a better install but requires cutting and welding and moving more things around. I'm leaning toward the first type of install because putting together bends and pipes seems less complicated than cutting and welding. Which is best?
83 dead bird, in pieces however I'm reading from the book of the dead, should be running soon.
