So ive been through 3 gaskets trying to get the gasket replaced. i lay the gasket on the engine first and the put the valve cover on and it ALWAYS seems to move. does anyone know an easier way to put it on or a way to make it stay? im getting real tired of working on this car to be honest which hurts me because i love this little TC haha

What gasket are you using? I'm guessing it's not the rigid ranger gasket? You can go out and get yourself a few bolts of the correct size from the hardware store, cut the heads off, and use them as locating dowels to get the VC on.

Thanks, man! It needs body work and paint, but I can usually make it look pretty good in pictures!
I forgot to mention - make sure the gasket, head surface, and valve cover surface are all completely dry when assembling. Any oil on there will make it shift all over the place. If you take the VC off again in the future, consider getting the Ranger VC gasket. Way easier to use and probably the most durable gasket out there.
