VAM Hose

I am finishing up my T3 swap and after rotating the compressor housing the inlet with the two hoses, from the VAM points down. How did you guys get this to work. To get the hose on I would have to twist it at a very awkward angle. I have read that you can move the VAM down and back but none of the other threads said to where. Any help is much appreciated. thanks

You can get a Machined Turbo Inlet Adapter from the Merkur XR4Ti site to rotate the turbo inlet/hose to the correct angle. Go here, about halfway down the listing:

It costs $33.00 shipped. I'm doing a IHI to T3 swap and I got one - very nicely made.

It's kind of a "eyeball it" thing. I modified the stock bracket by cutting the complete lower part off so that the only thing left is the big flat area that attaches to the top of the VAM and then mounted if further back toward the strut tower, on the inner fender . http://natomessageboard.com/uploads/0000...nstall.jpg

There might be a little more description at

Doing this allowed a little better angle for installing the VAM hose. I also used the IHI compressor inlet tube. It bolts to the front of a T3.

I used to just have a little metal strap that I bolted from the fenderwell to the VAM, just to hold the weight of it, it'll wind up back against the IRCM harness probably.

Currently deciding which is worth my time.
