Is it snowing out?

Couldn't help it, sorry [Image: frown.gif]

Are you going from an aluminum TO the iron flywheel? either way it will be fine, just resurface the flywheel and get a new clutch, throwout bearing and pressure plate, it will be like new.

Other than the clutch, there isn't anything that can slip in the drivetrain.

If you pull an aluminum Flywheel out of there, you should be able to get some money out of it to help fund the project.

You could have a bad rear main seal which would be leaking oil on the clutch disk. That would make it slip.

It doesn't make a difference which flywheel you use as long as it doesn't have any blueing from too much heat or stress cracks. If it needs to be re-surfaced, which I would do when installing a new clutch, make sure that they take as litle off as possible to get it true.

If the flywheel is cut, be sure to shim it by an amount equal to the thickness removed. If you dont do this, and a fair amount of material is removed, the clutch pedal will engage/disengage too close to the floor, if it disengages at all.
