turns signals work.......sometimes

my tc turn signals seem to have a mind of their own. Sometimes they work, and sometimes they dont. Loose wire in the actuator arm? Anything in that arm get worn out so that contact isn't made to turn on the signal, or?????? UPDATE: Ok, now they don't seem to work at all....but the hazards do work. When i say that the signals don't work, i mean that the signals don't turn on, nor the indicator in the dash. I hit the actuator arm and nothing happens. Anyone experience this before?

The multifunction switch (turn signal, headlight dimmer, etc) is probably bad, but before forking up big $$ to replace it, troubleshoot it. To do that, you really need the EVTM, which has the wiring diagram for the switch, and troubleshooting procedures for it also.

thanks to both pete and jeff for the help. Yes pete, i got the schematic in my email. I was playing around with it today, wiggling the key switch. Someone on turboford mentioned this as a possible problem. But, that didn't work. I then bumped the column a few times, and guess what....they worked. So now i think there may be a loose wire in there somewhere. I'll have to pull the cover off and try to locate the problem. Thanks again for the schematic.
