I've drove the TC for aweek now. Put in my boost gauge yesterday AM. I was only boosting it 10psi. I thought the car ran pretty good at 10psi, turned up the boost to 15psi. That 5 more pounds of boost mutiplied the fun factor buy about 10.
FUN FUN FUN FUN FUN FUN FUN FUN FUN FUN!!!!
My son rode with me and at eight years old even noticed the difference.

I dont know if its normal my 88 TC's turbo has been getting 16 PSI without a boost valve but its very fun to drive. You think I could still put a boostvalve and get somemore PSI and be safe for the engine?

Tony, you should be able to run 17-18 psi on your turbo with premium fuel. I would recommend an accurate boost gauge and that you run the fuel system diagnostics to make sure your pump is keeping up when in boost.

Don't rely on the factory boost gauge. Mine at below 10psi reads high, above 14psi it reads low. So I would not trust it at all. I'm planning to turn up the boost in the morning.
After I turn the boost to 17psi I need to stop mods on this car, as it is my daily driver and I can't have it breaking on me.
I'm going to start the turbo motor swap on my Mustang soon and that will be my play toy. Since it is a rag top I don't want it as a daily driver (air leaks and water leaks suck). It's cool with the top down though.

I would suggest autometer phantom 30vaccuum-30psi and get a 94 mustang gauge holder. The autometer gauge comes with most of the stuff you would need. About $45 for gauge...not sure on the A piller holder. I would buy them summit or jeggs

I just bought an Autometer Pro Comp Ultralite 30-30 boost/vacuum gauge. Looks and works great. As far as the downpipe goes, I just ordered a 3" DP from Stinger, hoping to have it installed by the end of the week.
