Turn signalon and side markers light up

when i turn on my turn signals my side markers also light up. Is this normal or some kind of electrical problem?
1986 Turbo Coupe. RDOG,

Sounds like what your referring to are the "cornering lamps" (if your car has this option) which are located in each fender just in front the wheel.
These clear lamps should come on with the corresponding turn signal, and both sides should light up when you turn your hazard lights on.

The Cornering Lamps were designed to illuminate the side of the road toward where you were turning.
