I just found a turbo cougar 5-spd bumped in the front end (bumper and grill damage). The guy was asking 4 $5000. Seemed steep to me, what do you guys think. I know they are fairly rare but sheesh.

88 TC: 5.0 Conversion,Edlebrock heads and upper-lower intake, rockers, exhaust, dynomax race magnum muff.,24lbs. injectors, waiting on supercharger.

How much damage and how nice is the rest of it?

I didn't pay nearly that much for mine, and I don't think it is worth nearly that much, but I would consider selling it if I was offered that much. Mine isn't perfect or immaculate, though.

I believe that the bumper cover is interchangeable with the 83-86 TC, and the grill is interchangeable with other Cougars of the same year.

The rest of the car would have to be almost perfect and have a bit of "bonus" stuff (perf parts or whatever) included in the price for it to be that much. They were rare, but not THAT rare.

The car is fairly nice but not THAT nice. No performance parts its all stock.

As much as I like the turbo Cougars...that one is not worth 5 large...
