I believe from the standpoint that the aerobirds were so innovative on styling alone will make them collectable. They really did have a noticeable impact that ushered in current car styling cues.
Even today, the body style doesn't seem dated, which is saying a lot for cars which are now 20 years old (especially so of the '87s and '88s though, but more generally all of the aero birds). That can't be said of the vast majority of cars from the 80's.
I agree with others though... collectability won't really happen for another 5-15 years or so.

well i have the simple solution for you then. if you want to keep it low miles and drive it alot just disconect the speed sensor from the transmition. the odomiter will never turn but niether will your speedo. i lost my sensor when i swapped the clutch out. if you do deside to do somthing like that just make sure u get a good idea what your engine speed is at 50km\h and 100 so u have an idea of how fast you are going

"Antique" and "Classic" are terms that basically define age, not desirability or collectibility. Yugos will one day be classics and antiques, if any last that long.
But will they ever be "collectibles"? Only to a very small niche (even smaller than the TC niche [Image: biggrin.gif])

Having a collectable car definatly is a two sided sword. Yes its worth more, for instance my '69 Fairlane Cobra I bought for $1500 in '73 is now worth 10-12 times that(yea I suspected it would be collectable one day, but I bought it to drive and have fun with). Down side is parts prices are now outrageous, and you'll get paranoid about driving it in heavy traffic, leaving it unattended, etc. Better get those TC goodies and parts cars now while they are cheap(well before they get real expensive).
